San Antonio Police Captain Michael Gorhum, who shot himself to death Thursday, has now been linked to the massive Ashley Madison hacking leak that has exposed millions of email addresses of users who had signed up for the extramarital dating site, expecting confidentiality.
Another man in Canada also [__reportedly committed suicide__](http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2015/08/24/police-ashley-madison-hack-extortion-crimes-suicides/32269699/) after his email surfaced.
And Florida State Attorney [__Jeffrey Ashton,__](http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/fla-attorney-jeffrey-ashton-confirms-ashley-madison-account-article-1.2334976) who prosecuted the Casey Anthony case, was also linked to the leak.
But he called a press conference, apologized and is apparently putting it behind him.
Gorhum and Ashton both used their work address, which is how they were connected to the site. Another San Antonio cop, a detective whose name has not been released, had also signed up for the site.
And we can expect many more government officials to be exposed who did not have the foresight to use an anonymous email.
Meanwhile, Ashley Madison, the Canadian-based company whose slogan is “Life is Short Have an Affair,” is offering a [__$378,000 reward__](http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/suicides-linked-ashley-madison-leak-article-1.2335448) for information leading to the prosecution of the hackers, who refer to themselves as the Impact Team.

Gorhum, a 25-year veteran of the department, oversaw the [__San Antonio Regional Intelligence Center Unit__](http://www.sanantonio.gov/SouthwestTexasFusionCenter.aspx) aka the Southwest Texas Fusion Center, where federal, state and local law enforcement officers collaborate on investigating citizens deemed to be dangerous.
