Washington state Fire Captain Scott Taube, is accused of groping a woman during a training exercise in Oregon. The Washington County Sheriff's Office in Oregon says the 52-year-old Taube was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, and charged with third-degree sexual abuse and harassment.
Taube is a captain at Clark County Fire District 6 in Vancouver, Washington, US News reports.
In July Taube led a fire training exercise at a Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue facility in Sherwood, Oregon. It was there that Taube reportedly grabbed a female trainee's buttocks while leading the training exercise.
The sheriff's office says detectives spoke with a witness who corroborated the woman's account.
Taube was arraigned Tuesday in Washington County Circuit Court, booked and released.
Clark County Chief Jerry Green said Taube was placed on paid administrative leave Tuesday, pending an internal investigation. Taube had worked at the department for 25 years.
Taube also held outside work as a contract employee in Washington County and trained new emergency medical technicians with Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
