Police have evacuated Facebook and Instagram’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California after receiving reports of a bomb threat towards the company.
According to ABC 7 news, the Menlo Park Police Department got word of the bomb threat through a tip from the New York City Police Department. The Menlo PD issued notification to Facebook at 5:22 p.m. pacific standard time. Police have evacuated the Facebook headquarters, as the bomb squad is on scene.
No details were provided about what the threat consisted of.
In a tweet, the Menlo PD said:
“Police activity in the 200 block of Jefferson Drive/Constitution Drive in Menlo Park due to a bomb threat. The building has been evacuated and the bomb unit is on scene.”
