Illinois Police Officer Mark A. Paglini was charged on May 28 with 10 counts of possessing child pornography. Paglini is a police officer with The Tower Lakes Police Department in Tower Lakes, IL.
On May 27 law enforcement executed a search warrant at Paglini’s residence in Salem, Wisconsin, CBS News reports.
Police say that during the search DVDs, thumb drives, and a Toshiba Satellite Laptop Computer were seized. Forensic examiners found what appeared to be child pornography on the hard drive of the laptop, with photos of a female likely under the age of 13, police say.
Court documents say, examiners found sexually explicit photos of the underage female as well as photos of her performing sexual acts. Police say that some of the images shared were possible hidden camera images.
Paglini is accused of knowingly possessing pictures of a child engaging in sexually explicit conduct and is charged with Class D felonies, which could result in a fine up to $100,000 and up to 25 years in prison along with fines of $500 per photo he possessed.
Paglini is also accused of sharing images of a 10- to 11-year-old female that he knew, taken between 2005-06, in an online forum. One day after the search warrant was executed Paglini was arrested and booked in the Kenosha County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
